Nossas Novas, translating to "Our News", formed in 2019 and is fronted by Sonia McLaughlin, a Brazilian American Austinite & musician. The band is influenced by Brasil's colorful bossanova and tropicalia movements centered in Rio de Janeiro, but playfully blend in twists of samba, jazz and rock.

About Us

Last Place Records Began in Austin, Texas as a mobile recording van for tracking live performance straight to 1/2” tape. We then began pressing and cutting vinyl for local soul, surf, funk and jazz artists, and ultimately running a small studio and creating releases from scratch. Since then Last Place has grown into an international collective of musicians, designers and producers that create music and art for the sake of love and exploration into the spiritual practice of musicality.
